Apache Corporation is an independent energy company engaged in the exploration, development, and production of natural gas, crude oil, and natural gas liquids. Founded in 1954, the company conducts geological and production activities in three geographic regions: the United States, Egypt, and the United Kingdom shelf in the North Sea. Apache also has exploration interests in Suriname, which could eventually lead to the discovery and development of hydrocarbons. Apache sells crude oil in the United States to integrated major oil companies, marketing and transportation companies, and refineries under contracts with prices based on local supply and demand conditions.
