FVAL tracks the Fidelity U.S. Value Factor Index, focusing on undervalued large-cap and mid-cap stocks in the U.S. While FVAL has shown decent performance, its high concentration risk and expense ratio of 0.15% for the potentially small performance spread may limit its value to investors. Size and quality are also components of value and by not at least including the first one in its approach, this ETF doesn't seem like a good value ETF.

The Fidelity Value Factor ETF has outperformed segment benchmark ETFs in recent years through an alternative indexing strategy. We highlight that the fund includes a large concentration in 5 mega-cap "Mag 7" names that are more commonly associated with growth. The fund may continue to deliver positive returns, but may not have the type of value exposure investors are seeking.
