The company's Specialty Chemicals segment produces lubricants, surfactants, defoamers, reaction intermediaries, sulfated fats and oils for the chemical, pulp and paper, coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers, textile, automotive, household, industrial and institutional, water and waste-water treatment, construction, oil and gas, and other industries. It also provides chemical tolling manufacturing resources to chemical companies. The company was formerly known as Blackman Uhler Industries, Inc. and changed its name to Synalloy Corporation in July 1967. Synalloy Corporation was founded in 1945 and is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia.
