Ternium steel shipments boomed 28% yoy in Q3 after taking a controlling interest in Brazilian steelmaker Usiminas. The company has expanded market share in Mexico and Brazil and is seeing steel prices bottoming out finally, although the positive impact to net income may not hit until Q124. Ternium consensus revenue estimates for 2024 have been revised upwards by 20% in the past three months.

Ternium has been hit hard by sliding steel prices, but the company says headwinds could be easing. Ternium's decision to build a $2.2 billion electric arc furnace slab mill in northern Mexico has rattled some investors with respect to the stock's mid-term outlook.
Latin American equities have not enjoyed as much relative strength against the US as some other regions this year. With rallying commodities, namely steel prices, there is fundamental upside potential for Ternium.
