BEL AIR, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Maryland American Water has announced that it has received the go-ahead from the Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC) to buy the drinking water assets of the Severn Water Company for about $1.6 million. This marks the first acquisition made by Maryland American Water under the fair market value law introduced by the Maryland General Assembly in 2018. "We are happy with the PSC's decision and are excited to welcome the 1,685 customers," said a company representative.
Georgia Power has found sites for 500 MW of new battery energy storage systems (BESS), which were approved by the Georgia Public Service Commission earlier this year. This initiative is part of the company's 2023 Integrated Resource Plan Update. The proposed BESS resources aim to meet the energy demands identified in the update in a cost-effective and strategic way.
Wall Street's newfound bullishness on small caps reflects a notable shift in market dynamics, with several analysts predicting continued growth.
